Travel to and in Freiburg

By plane to Basel
The nearest airport is Basel which is fairly well connected with public transport (traveltime: around an hour) to Freiburg - either by a bit unregular direct bus to Freiburg Main Station (https://www.freiburger-reisedienst.de/index.php?lang=en) or via regular local bus to Basel Main Station (https://www.euroairport.com/en/passengers-visitors/access-parking/access/bus.html) and from there with the train.

By plane to Frankfurt
Frankfurt is also a good option. There is a high speed train connection (during the day at least every hour - traveltime: a bit more than two hours) directly from the airport to Freiburg (https://www.bahn.com/en/view/index.shtml).

By train
Freiburg is well integrated in the European high speed train network.

Covid Regulations
To attend the conference, you will need to show proof that (1) you are fully vaccinated against Covid or (2) have recovered from the illness or (3) have received a negative test result within the preceding 24 hours. (If numbers worsen, the state of Baden-Württemberg may remove the third option. We will inform you if that occurs. Meanwhile, the safest policy - in more ways than one - is to get vaccinated.)

If you arrive with none of these, we can direct you to a testing station at the PH. You should book a time slot in advance (https://hochschultesting-freiburg.de/ph-freiburg/).

Getting around in Freiburg.
Littenweiler or Laßbergstrasse. The map shows the walk from Laßbergstrasse to the check-in site. The tram has several stops in the city, runs frequently and takes about 17 minutes.
Another possibility is a train (S-Bahn) from the Hauptbahnhof to the Littenweiler station. You can take either the S10 towards Villingen or the S11 towards Titisee. These trains stop next to the PH but run less frequently than the tram.
